Revision as of 15:33, 24 March 2020

Crafting is unlocked once you reach level 20 on an aircraft for the first time. The crafting system, accessed at the Workshop, offers a number of useful services, listed below:

  • Crafting new pieces of equipment.
  • Using Fusion to upgrade Grade-I Crafted, Elemental and Special equipment to Grades II and III.
  • Reforging damaged equipment back to Pristine status.
  • Supercharging Pristine equipment with additional stat bonuses.
  • Crafting misc. items, like cosmetic Trails, Nanites, or Special Event items.

Crafting

Most crafting recipes, by default, do not appear in the Workshop unless you have acquired the necessary base item for the recipe. Base items include Grade-I Elemental or Special weapons. An exception to this is Crafted items, whose recipes will appear regardless if you have the ingredients.

Ingredients

Ingredients are the main components used for crafting, and are found by completing Missions and defeating various enemies and bosses. A list of where each ingredient drops can be found by opening the Inventory with V, and selecting Crafting Ingredients near the bottom. Elemental Steels are acquired by completing daily Bounties and through the Combat Sim, and Copper by defeating most enemies and bosses. Nanites are created from plane upgrades(see Supercharging), and Gems can be acquired from high-level dungeons or the Combat Sim to craft epic trails for your plane.

Fusion

Similar to crafting new equipment, players can use Fusion recipes to upgrade existing items through the "Craft New items" tab in the Workshop. Fusion is only available for Elemental equipment and Crafted/Special weapons, and allows players to raise the given item's item rank (and rarity) by 1, increasing its power.

It's worth noting the item itself isn't actually upgraded, but is instead replaced with a new item.

The following table displays the costs of upgrading ELEM/Crafted/SPEC items to higher ranks, as well as their levels of power and rarity relative to tiered items.

Item Rarity and Upgrade Costs

Type T8 Rarity T8 Power T8-T9 Cost T9 Rarity T9 Power T9-T10 Cost T10 Rarity T10 Power
ELEM Weapon Common (I) 80% 30 ELEM Steel, 10 each of 3 Ingredients Rare (II) 90% 50 ELEM Steel, 10 each of 3 Ingredients Epic (III) 100%
ELEM Armor Common (I) +24/+14% 30 ELEM Steel, 10 each of 3 Ingredients Rare (II) +27/+17% 50 ELEM Steel, 10 each of 3 Ingredients Epic (III) +30/+20%
Crafted Weapon Rare (I) 80% 30 ELEM Steel, 10 each of 3 Ingredients Epic (II) 90% 50 ELEM Steel, 10 each of 3 Ingredients Legendary (III) 100%
SPEC Weapon - - - Epic (I) 90% 80 Dark Steel, 10 each of 3 Ingredients Legendary (II) 100%
  • ELEM Steel refers to Blue/Purple/Red/White/Yellow Steels, which are, respectively, used to upgrade Water/Poison/Fire/Ice/Lightning weapons and armor.
    • Upgrading Crafted Weapons uses the same ELEM Steel type used to craft the initial Grade-I versions (see List of Craft Recipes).

Reforging

Reforging allows the player to repair any equipment damaged in a crash back to Pristine condition. Although equipment can be degraded up to 4 times(once per crash), only a single reforging is needed to restore it to Pristine.

The condition of one's equipment has 6 levels: Supercharged!, Pristine, Scuffed, Banged-Up, Damaged, and Wrecked.

  • Supercharged means additional stat boosts have been applied through crafting.
  • Pristine is the default condition of all undamaged equipment.
  • Scuffed, Banged-Up, and so forth are damaged conditions, and incur certain stat penalties as the item's condition worsens. See Equipment Durability for more info.
  • For each item, an item of equal tier and type must be used as materials for reforging, in addition to Scrap and Nanites. That means another Elemental III is required to reforge an Elemental III, a Special II is needed for a Special II, etc.

Supercharging

Recipes

All tiered equipment (Weapons, Secondary Abilities, Engines, and Armor) below T8 can be progressively upgraded provided you have enough Copper and the required item of the previous tier.
